It's getting pretty bad here in Timmins when a person has to beg a driver to lower the ramp on a bus and for what? Some and I say SOME, not all, havent't got the decency to lower the ramp for people with disabilities and it's their jobs to do so. I find this disgusting. This is a public service that people should be able to enjoy. I've recently experienced this issue and have complained to the supervisors about this. I get attacked on a personal level afterwards. I'm not being heard.

Torch of Life coming to Timmins March 14thAs a father and husband to kidney transplant recipients I cannot in good conscience ignore or understate the importance of this initiative. On two separate occasions, two families, and in the time of devesting grief made the decision to fulfill the wished of their loved ones, in giving the gift of life, and in turn changed the lives of not only my family but of many families. Mere words can never say thank you enough.Statistically in Ontario only 20% of the population are registered organ and tissue donors, extremely low considering that 90% agree that being a donor is the right thing to do. To-date we have 1514 Ontarians on our transplant waiting list and every three days one will die. The greatest number of people on our wait list is those waiting for kidneys and these people are not dying because of kidney failure but they are dying because of our failure. As of June 2011 we have an easy way to register your consent and to check to see if you are actually registered, it takes only minutes at beadonor.ca. One click of a mouse that’s all it takes to potentially save 8 lives and enhance the lives of another 75 lives.Think of it this way, every time you get into a vehicle you go click, 90% of us do it…why ? Because we are taught that wearing a seatbelt saves lives. The same thing applies when going to beadonor.ca.Timmins has a registration rate of 41%, Sudbury has a rate of 43%. The challenges is…which of our great cities will get to 50% first? Yes, that is the challenge !

I have not seen my wife's aunt for over 10 years, and I was delighted to see your article on her. Edith Allsopp is a remarkable woman and I am glad to see she is obviously the bright spark she was then. Although I now live in France word still gets around. I must say she looks as young as when I last saw her.Thank you Dormer Treffry
