Matt Humphreys
'Everything Changed On The Way...' the new EP from Matt Humphreys is more fact than fiction for this singer/songwriter from Timmins. Having grown up in Northern Ontario, Matt brings a folk/roots vibe to his brand of adult contemporary pop. His songs speak of growing up, experiencing life, and finding (and losing out on) love. The EP, produced by veteran Paul Milner who's previous credits include Queensryche, Eddy Grant, Sass Jordan, and the Doughboys, is backed by a band of stellar musicians including Kevin Breit (Celine Dion, Norah Jones), Mark Rogers (Kazzer, Edwin), and Jamie Oakes (Amy Sky, Tom Cochrane). 'Bailee', a song about breaking free from an emotionally negative relationship, highlights Matt's soaring melody over layered instrumental arrangements. Born in Sudbury and raised in the town of Timmins, Ontario, Matt studied piano and voice privately before moving to Toronto to complete a Bachelor of Music in Voice. He continued to embrace the popular side of music as a frequent performer in pubs and clubs in the Toronto area, joining the ever growing Irish pub circuit of the late-90s. From 1998 - 2003, Matt founded the successful celtic/folk ensemble Urban Folk with his brother Beau. They toured extensively across Canada, releasing two albums both containing original material penned by Matt. Post-Urban Folk Matt continued to play solo, building on the relationships he established at dozens of venues across the province. Matt was recognized for his vocal abilities by being a featured contestant on the first season of the CTV television show 'Canadian Idol', battling his way to the top 48 singers in Canada, and more recently, in the third season, reaching the TOP 32. After his TV appearances, Matt decided to concentrate on creating a solo persona that melded together the piano-pop greats of the 1970s with a much needed urban feel. Striving to break the mold of the contemporary pop singer, Matt draws inspiration from artists like Billy Joel, Elton John, and James Taylor. He continues to break new boundaries with his 'Everything Changed On The Way...' which is already receiving spins on regional commercial radio, and nationally on CBC.

The Shaftmen
The music of THE SHAFTMEN has been described as “tough and earthy”… No surprise then that the music that comes out of a heritage of blasting, mucking, and refining the earth’s core is earthy, real, and built upon a solid foundation. The feel and power of the band is directly influenced by the culture and heritage of Timmins and Northeastern Ontario. No different than Buddy Guy’s Chicago or Bob Seger’s Michigan “What comes out is what’s inside” It’s as simple as that. You also may note the name and distinctive “Head frame Logo.” These mining head frames and real life miners are part of a culture that literally built an entire part of Ontario. With, “Mining The Blues” we wanted to pay tribute to our heritage and musical roots. We love the pure swagger and gutsy music of artists like The Rolling Stones who of course were influenced by bluesman like Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters. It’s clear we are not a strict 12-bar blues band. We’re more into the emotion of the blues, and the feel of a great rockin’ riff or chord pattern that’s derived from blues, R & B and rock ’n’ roll. Hence, the title “Mining The Blues.” We were thrilled to have Juno winner and legendary Canadian guitarist Jack De Keyzer as our producer. Besides Jack’s obvious talent, he is one hell of a great guy. We would no doubt call on him again, if he was available. Ultimately when you involve your own heritage, culture and community we believe it becomes music that feels and heals …Crank up this baby ... enjoy.

Blind Dog Circus
Imagine - In the heavy hittingand unpredictable world of music a band stands so far above the rest that they've undoubtedly earned the title, "The true essence of hard rock". In late 2006 Timothy Grant (Vocals) and Charlie Power (Bass) set out to create a hard hitting sound that would incorporate agressive melodies, in your face guitar driven crunch and ear grabbing, radio ready hooks. Blind Dog Circus' line up then solidified with the additions of Cory Jobin (Lead Guitar) and Mike Blais (Drums). The band has hit the northern ontario music scene and beyond with an incredibly powerful, high energy show that has won them a loyal following of hard rock fans. The bands' early demo began receiving airplay on WFLMradio.com, WFLM was receiving an overwhelming amount of requests for Blind Dog Circus and very soon after, Blind Dog Circus were invited for an "on air" interview with DJ FreaknNutz in their satelite office. Just three days later, the band had sold all of their 300 demo's. It was now that Blind Dog Circus realized that it was time to make this real. Blind Dog Circus headed into the studio to record "Act 1" which will be blind Dog Circus' first full length album, this new CD will further prove that Blind Dog Circus will be a force to be reckoned with in the world of hard rock. With no label the band has been using myspace as it's "hub" of operations to get the attention that the new album deserves. The day is coming - They just don't know when.
